Cardiff University

Founded by Royal Charter in 1883, Cardiff University is a dynamic and successful centre of higher education with an international reputation for high quality teaching and research.

Cardiff School of Social Sciences enjoys an international reputation for excellence in research. The School is also recognised as one of the top five Centres for Excellence in the UK. Social Sciences endeavours to understand how we live our lives and the way different societies respond to social problems, new technologies and the changing world of work and employment. Social Sciences at Cardiff encompasses the major subject areas of Education, Criminology, Sociology and Social Policy.

Criminology is another traditional strength, and the work of the Criminological Research Group ranges from an ESRC study of international money-laundering to a Home Office-sponsored report on Homelessness and Substance Abuse in the UK.
